NUU Mobile G4 Seemingly Canceled
Jul 21, 2019
Back at CES 2019, NUU Mobile unveiled its latest entry into its budget phone family. It's called the G4, the company's successor to the G3. Here are some of the specs as listed on NUU Mobile's announcement.

According to NUU's website listing, the phone was set to be released in the spring. Weirdly, the listing has since been taken down, leaving no evidence that it was ever there. Luckily, I was able to find an archive of the page on archive.org.
I emailed NUU back in early May about dates; they responded with this, "As of this writing, Technical Support has been informed that we expect the G4 in late May or June." It's now late July and we have nothing. The listing was removed around the beginning of the month. So I messaged them again; they replied saying, "we dont have an update for you yet, but will be back in touch as soon as we do." What does that mean? Is it being delayed again? Are we ever going to see it?
If you ask me, I'd say that we won't be seeing it any time soon... or ever. But what does this mean for NUU as a company? Well, unless they have something magical up their sleeves, they may be dead too. Think about it, the G series is NUU's flagship line. If they are having troubles with that, then how are they going to survive?
I don't know, maybe I am overthinking this way too much. Maybe everything is going to be just fine. But as of right now, NUU has not given me a reason to believe its true.
